This image is FREE to use - The Winchburgh Development - a partnership between local landowners and project managers Sigma Capital - got underway today (16th July) heralding the creation of West Lothian's sixth largest town and what is believed to be Scotland's largest urban renewal project. The £1bn fifteen year development will see 300 jobs sustained annually in construction and some 3450 new homes over time. A community benefit clause agreed with developers will trigger a £1.27 million contribution towards West Lothian Council's cost in extending Linlithgow Academy which was completed last year. Picture shows Alex Neil MSP - Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure and Capital Investment - on a visit to the site to help earthmovers cut the first turf of the development - for further information please contact Ewan Hunter (Sigma Capital - on 07803 904 769) or Iain Monk (Scottish Government on 07771 555 601 or http://www.scotland.gov.uk/News/Releases/2012/07/west-lothian-construction16072012) - picture by Donald MacLeod - 16.7.12 - 07702 319 738 - clanmacleod@btinternet.com - www.donald-macleod.com
